We were sincere believers that integrity, compliance and transparency resulted as an ESG trend would save the world. Unfortunately, the recent invasion of Russia into Ukraine puts a colossal threat not for Ukrainians but for the world [for lessons which were not learned](https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/world-keeps-ingoring-lessons-waiting-another-pearl-oleg-lagodiyenko/?trackingId=30Yn3slFAN586wCzHGMBCw%3D%3D), including the finding that compliance will never work unless considered by the spirit and NOT by looking for loopholes.  Many global companies appeared to fail with compliance and traded with Russia in breach of sanctions connected to the annexation of Crimea in 2014. We cannot stand aside from such a dramatic disaster in global ethics.   ## We are Ukrainians!   Ethicontrol was founded by Ukrainians and operated in Kyiv, Ukraine, apart from Germany and Estonia. For us, the security of our team members and the resilience of the IT platform is paramount. Therefore, we have enabled the business continuity plan to ensure the sustainability of our operations. Unfortunately, some of our team members remain in occupied areas.   ## What does this situation mean for our customers?   With regard to the use of our platform – nothing. We at Ethicontrol have been preparing for these circumstances and were already mainly working remotely to ensure no disruptions in the support and development of our products. Although our office is located in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, we securely host all of our infrastructure and user data on Linode servers located in Germany or Microsoft Azure servers globally. At the same time, our back-office resides in Estonia. We want to say thank you for all the incredible messages of support you have sent our way.    ## Stand with Ukraine   When the invasion started, Ethicontrol joined the efforts to help Ukraine right away. Aside from donating funds and volunteering on-site, we have transferred our office equipment as humanitarian aid. We have also decided to grant special discounts to Ukrainian companies during martial law and extended our non-profit grant program to humanitarian and volunteer organisations in Ukraine. Since our founding, we did not have business operations in Russia or Russian-owned companies, and we will continue such policy. However, there is never enough help.
