As we bid farewell to 2023, Ethicontrol reflects upon a year marked by significant achievements, valuable partnerships, and an unwavering commitment to corporate governance and ethical business practices. Here are some notable highlights from Ethicontrol's journey in 2023.
We actively participated in key industry events
1. On July 7, 2023, we had the honour of participating in the Third Anti-Corruption Whistleblowers Conference. This event holds special significance for us, as we've been actively involved in anti-corruption efforts for over a decade. Here is a summary for those who couldn't attend and a reflection for those who share our dedication to this important mission.
2. Ethicontrol proudly participated as an organizational partner at the “Compliance Audit vs Corporate Fraud” conference organized by Business-Format Group. This collaboration took place on October 18, offering valuable insights and tools to address the pressing challenges of corporate fraud in the contemporary business landscape. You can find more here.
3. Ethicontrol was proud to exhibit during the International Corporate Directors Forum held on December 6, 2023. Over 200 board members, executives, owners, and corporate governance professionals from Ukraine and abroad gathered for this key professional event. We brought a lot of merchandise and went out of stock for the first time ever 👍

At the beginning of 2023, Ethicontrol was listed as a High Performer in HR Case Management on G2!
This prestigious acknowledgment reflects our unwavering commitment to delivering excellence in ethical solutions.
Got new important clients
This year, Ethicontrol's client portfolio experienced robust growth, expanding across a captivating tapestry of diverse industries and sectors. We have started servicing ENOC, ILGA World, Astarta, Nibulon, Naftogaz Group, Red Cross Ukrainian Committee, and SSTC.
This is a bit, but when speaking about the impact, we have committed to protecting the anonymity, confidentiality, and the right way of corporate justice of an additional 100k employees. This requires responsibility and will require lots of effort from us and our corresponding client's process owners.
These were challenging implementations and rollouts:
- Set up additional servers in the UAE, EU, and Tanzania;
- Trained native Arabic call center agents located in Dubai;
- Conducted more than 24 hours of live user trainings;
- Added a new type of leaflet to our list of communication materials for clients;
- Created numerous adaptations of explainer videos for reporters
Passed a security audit and two vulnerability tests
We passed the ISO 27001 Information security audit, confirming our commitment to data security. Ethicontrol has an Information Security Management System that adheres to international standards, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our clients' sensitive information.
In addition, we have also undergone two independent vulnerability assessments conducted by our valued clients. These assessments further validate our commitment to proactively identifying and addressing potential security vulnerabilities in our systems. We don't say that we were perfect — so a bunch of security updates were released subsequently.
Released new features and enhancements
Our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation was evident in the significant changes made to our code. With a total of 1250 files modified, we made 63,437 insertions and more importantly 😱 11,841 deletions. These changes were implemented to enhance the functionality and performance of our platform, ensuring a seamless experience for our users.
New logic for documenting wrongdoers and remediation actions
We changed the terminology, redesigned tables and linking logic. Now we have in team conclusions:
- Confirmed wrongdoers and recommended disciplinary actions
- Internal controls deficiencies
- Action plan
Updated task and actions engine
- More robust and efficient backend seamlessly connecting additional attributes to tasks and actions (risks, processes, disciplinary actions, remediation actions, controls).
This empowered our ECHO module with cross-platform information grabbed from all cases. Users can now see case remediation, control improvements, and disciplinary actions from all the cases in a single register. These elements got the deadlines and responsible — meaning more control and reminders if needed.

New filter “History of statuses”
Our clients were requesting to filter cases based on the stages/statuses in their history. For example, when the process flow allows options and some cases can go for preliminary check while some directly into investigation. So, at some point, you would like to know the stats of cases that had no preliminary check.

- Gems and code component updates;

- Password management for reporters: Password complexity and other;
- Expiration of download links;
- Brute force protection for Reporters' security code / Password;
- Improved Single Sign-On (SSO): Sign-in with password can now be disabled for a more secure Single Sign-On experience;
- Restriction/limitations of downloads and uploads;
- Improved security for uploads: Content type verifications, and others;
- HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) on the web app level;
- HTML Injection protection;
- Host header attack protection;
- ICMP timestamp response disabled.
Added new languages
- Spanish Website: Ethicontrol now offers a translated Spanish website.
- New Interface Languages for reporters: Malay, Malayalam, Turkmen, and Urdu.
- Added Greek and Polish into the Case management interface.
